Are you up for some exciting racing ? Then try your hand at our King of the Bay elimination format. We have an open water swimming event and
a surf ski event.
The Qualifier - Swimmers race over 1.6km, paddlers over 4km. Round 5 - Top 20 swimmers race over 750m, top 20 paddlers over 2km. Last 4 in each eliminated Round 4 - Remaining swimmers race over 750m, remaining paddlers over 2km. Last 4 in each eliminated Round 3 - Remaining swimmers race over 325m, remaining paddlers over 1km. Last 4 in each eliminated Round 2 - Remaining swimmers race over 750m, remaining paddlers over 2km. Last 4 in each eliminated Round 1 - Remaining swimmers race over 750m, remaining paddlers over 2km. Nelson Mandela Bay Mile - Sun 16th 10am |

The classic 1.6km open water swimming event, catering for both individuals and relay teams.
Inidividuals will contest a 2 lap course whilst relay teams, consisting of 4 swimmers, will compete over a staggered course where each swimmer swims over
a seperate distance.
Relay team legs:
First leg - 100m
Second leg - 300m
Third leg - 450m
Fourth leg - 750m
No wetsuits or other swimming aids will be permitted.

Dash 4 Cash (Double Ski) - Sun 16th 10am |
Last minute event, but should prove to be very popular.
10 - 15km (depending on conditions) double ski dice with cash prizes for the top 3 teams in a winner takes all type format.
As this wasn't originally part of the Splash Festival, we had no prizes allocated for it, so what we're going to do is charge R100 per boat and then
share out 75% of the entry fees received to the top 3 boats in a 50:30:20 ratio.

Entry Fee
Entry into each the King of the Bay and the Mandela Bay Mile will be only R30
Entry into the Dash 4 Cash will be R100 per ski
Entry on the day of the event at the Watersports Tower (on the beach).

Nelson Mandela Bay Mile - Entries open 8.30am - close 9.45am
Dash 4 Cash - Entries open 8.30am - close 9.45am
